Motivation Monday - 11.30.15 - Commit

Yesterday morning as I was getting ready to head to church I felt led to look at Psalm 92:13.

“Those who are planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God.” Psalms 92:13

Seems fitting for a Sunday morning, but I believe that there is more to it. Being planted anywhere is an intentional decision. To help us process this further, let’s change the word planted to committed.

In our American culture, commitment seems to be a rare commodity. Very few employees will retire having only one job under their belt. Sometimes people find better opportunities, but sometimes a company finds people that cost less to do the same job. Unfortunately, a lot of people have experienced what it feels like to have a relationship fall apart at some point in their life because of someone not keeping up their end of the deal. When I look at the news, I see an awful lot of pain and brokenness because of a lack of commitment.

If you want to flourish, you need to be committed first. So, what are you going to do intentionally this week to flourish? I had to answer this question last night.

“If you do what you have always done, you will get the same results.” -Unknown

Everybody wants to flourish! Everybody wants to be successful, but few are willing to sacrifice or focus long enough to get there.

“Change is inevitable, but growth is optional.” - Unknown

What are you going to do today to flourish? What can you do to grow in your faith? What will you do to grow as a friend, spouse, parent, neighbor, entrepreneur, employee etc.?

Commit.
