Motivation Monday - Where do you gain your strength?

Motivation Monday 9.21.15 - Where do you gain your strength?

Some people cannot function without their coffee. I am not much of a coffee person, but there are other things that help me get motivated. For instance, when I need to get pumped to go to the gym, I play Eye Of The Tiger. It is my go to jam! But when my jam is not available, I struggle.

Every once in a while I forget my headphones. When this happens, sometimes I struggle to get going. I have actually turned back around and went home to get my headphones because just getting to the gym was already tough. Can I get a witness?!

King David wrote in the book of Psalms about his source of strength often. In Psalm 84:5, David shares the benefit of not leaving the source of your strength at home.

“Blessed is the man whose strength is in You, Whose heart is set on pilgrimage.” Psalms 84:5

David’s strength was not found in a thing or even in himself. David said, “Blessed is the man whose strength is in You (The Lord).” David gained his strength from the Lord first.

I don’t know what you lean on, but this week; as you move throughout your week; try gaining strength from God first. Instead of turning on your music first, or before that sip of high-octane coffee, pray first. Let God be your source of strength first this week, and pay attention to the difference it makes. Pay attention to the difference He makes.

Be encouraged and have a great week friend!
